Jock Stein’s Cottage 1905

Jock Stein’s Cottage, Bardykes Road. Jock Stein was a local character who had a large mole on his face. Jock would hire out his Cart or move stuff or anything else for that matter. He kept chickens and pigs at the rear and would collect waste food from schools to feed his pigs. The Cottage on the left is Aggie Baine’s before the corner was cut off to widen the road. You can just see the roof of the Barnhill Tavern above it.
