Blantyre Miners Welfare Indoor Bowling Club

Club Opening Times:- 9am- 9pm

Juniors between the ages of 8 and 16, play every Saturday 8am-10am

The Blantyre Miners Indoor Bowling Club is a well respected club in the world of Lawn Bowling, both indoor and out.

The club has always produced champions at every level from juniors to seniors, check the results for the most recent season to see an example of the clubs winning ways.

The club is a part of the Scottish Bowling Association, SBA, and competes in numerous national and international tournaments with players from the club also representing their country in pairs, triples and fours teams.

The club was first established in 1964 and will celebrate it’s 46th anniversary this year. The club is still going strong and has a great history of champions which you can see by viewing the champions board pictures on the media page. The club will accept members from 8 years old upwards with no limit on age above that. Club Tournaments are held throughout the season which runs from September till April. The bowling club also holds a Jim Swinburne Memorial Tournament every Christmas.

The membership fees are as follows:

Gents= £49
Ladies= £44
Seniors= £40
Minors= £33.50
Juniors= 50p

The prices for individual games are as follows:

10am- 12pm= £2 a game
12pm- 6pm= £2.35 a game
6pm- Closing= £2.50 a game
Weekends= £2.50 a game
Visitors/Non-members= £3.15 a game

The club has a number of champions that compete at a national level representing and even captaining their country at National/World Bowls tournaments. You can view the list of these players on the National Players page.
