Unhappy Holiday

Unhappy Holiday

Holidays are now upon you
Filled with melancholy cheer
Opening gifts and over eating
Drinking wines and exotic beer
Kids with I-pods and X-boxes
Grannies sipping Christmas sherry
Granda’s snoring on the couch
For tis’ the season to be merry
This strange façade
You could live without

Lived to see another year
As New Year’s come and go
Hope you enjoy many more
As sands of time run slow
Time of thought and strange reflection
Of folks we’ve come to know
Thoughts of those who have passed
You’re fighting off the tears
Raise a glass in grace to them
Remembering those happy years…
