Alternative Christmas Time

You know that Christmas is upon you
When you see those horrible lights
Those dull dismal lamp
No colours, just all white

No displays in our shop windows
Surely it’s a sign
Jaickys stagger ‘roon the street
Drinking tonic wine

Weans screaming at their maw
I want it, I want it now
Maws are saying “av’ nae money”
I don’t care I want it anyhow

In supermarkets you can see them
There’s Spirits everywhere
Ten pound a bottle
To oblivion we don’t care

No holiness or understanding
Of what it really means
Just greed and self-indulgence
And Dolce Gabbana Jeans
