Apollo LoungeThe Plough Inn – Main Street at Priestfield Street. The Apollo Bar, nicknamed J.B.’s the initials of the Pub owner, J.B. Struthers, who also owned the Auchintibber Inn and financed the build of the Italian Gardens at Auchintibber. (became the Apollo lounge sometime later).

The Masonic Hall next door to the pub date 1884 is prominently displayed on the side of the building. Masonic Lodge 1884

Now an Indian Restaurant.

John Cornfield: 1st pub I ever drank in dogging school. One day I went in had a few pints. Every underager drank here in th early seventies. We used to go to Blackpool at the September weekend on the Thursday night fae here. lol they were the days.

Jim McDougall: Many a happy night was spent in Blakeley’s, then up to J.B.’s, in the early sixties, great memories of a great time living in Blantyre, miss those years’
