Board Room

Mill House, known as the Board Room, which was part of the Bottom Row in the Workers Village. Built of local Sandstone and is currently the last house on Station Road.

This photo of Mill House, taken in 1900 shows the start of the dilapidation of the Bottom Row which by this time was used as workers’ accommodation. The building behind the Co-op cart is the Board Room before the rest of the building was demolished.  Bottom Row 1900
Mill House Mill House, is now owned by Alison Walker-Hill’s family. Alison said that she uncovered a sign within the building saying, “Jolly’s Stables.” Jolly was one-time Manager of the Mills who lived in the Lodge.
