Duffy Family – Hammer and Axe

Blacksmith made Hammer and Axe for Dixon’s No2 Pit, donated to the BMCRC by John Duffy, who’s father John owned the tools. The Duffy family moved to 5 Hazelwood Drive, Blantyre. John was killed in the 1959 Auchengeich Pit disaster.

Sent in by John Duffy, retired after 27 years as Technical teacher at Blantyre High School.
