Betty McGaulley – Now in Toronto

I was born in the back room of Tommy Loughlin, the Cobbler, in the Robertson Building on Stonefield Road. I then lived in Dixon’s Raws, 36 Hall Street, as ma Da was a miner. I lived above Little’s the Bakers, which no one ever talks about, 200a Glasgow Road… a very famous Baker!! Wullie Pates?? Brown School of Dancing, The “Dookit”  All in the same block.

I remember the bread strike?? 1968 Oh My God?? Little’s the Bakers was below my bedroom!! They were lining up from 4.00 a.m. in the morning. I had to go to Phillips in Wellhall Road where I worked, so there is lots to catch up on??
