My Mum , Helen Davidson Shaw (Daly) Thompson at her 90th birthday 2000.

She died 2 years later, a few months before I came over to visit. I brought half of her ashes ‘hame’ and with the help of her cousin May MacLean, her daughter Ann and son Andrew we interred Mum’s ashes in her grandparents grave and Ann brought white, purple and pink heather which we planted on top. I hope they are doing well!

Despite her 76 ‘Australian’ years, Mum never lost her accent which became even broader when in the company of other Scots!
