Norman Scott

Dear Bill,

Firstly may I congratulate you on a wonderful website, you should be rightly proud. My name is Geoff Reynolds and my Grandfather, William Scott Reynolds, was born at Springwell Terrace, Blantyre on 31st July 1904. He was the son of a Cornish miner, William Reynolds and Agnes Scobie Scott. (born Stonefield, Blantyre 1st December 1874). Agnes had a son prior to her marriage to William, “Out of wedlock,” he was born in 1895 and named Norman Scott. Norman was killed in action on Thursday, 25 July, 1918, aged 23. I believe Norman’s name appears on your local war memorial.
I am attaching 3 photographs that I think may be of interest. One is of, I believe, Calder Street School, which must have been taken about 1912. My Grandfather is third from the left in the back row (marked with an “x”).

The second is a copy of a certificate awarded to him.

I hope these will be of interest to you. I have a lot more information about Agnes Scobie Scott, including documents should you be interested. Please do not hesitate to contact me,
Geoff Reynolds
